For more engagement of lawyers in women’s rights protection, Beijing Zhongze women’s counseling center held the first annual conference on lawyers’ participation in women’s rights protection ever on 19th, December, in haikou, Hainan province. More than 40 lawyers, who are dedicated to protection of women’s rights, from over 10 provinces and autonomous regions all over China took part in this conference.

Prof. Liu Bohong, the pre deputy director of the research institute of the National Women's Federation, present professor of China Women’s University, introduced the 7th and 8th review reports on Chinese government’s implementation of Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women, initiated by the Committee on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women, clause by clause. She also interacted with lawyers on the main-stream issues of social gender. Later, lawyers were divided into groups and had an in-depth discussion on domestic violence, sexual assaults against children and spouses’ rights to information on common properties.
